—Emporio, SO Chapter 158

Emporio Alniño (エンポリオ・アルニーニョ Enporio Arunīnyo) is a core ally featured in JoJo Part 6: Stone Ocean.

Emporio is a young Stand User, born and living secretly in Green Dolphin Street Prison. He sympathizes with Jolyne and becomes one of her primary allies. Emporio's Stand is the ghost room, Burning Down the House.

Appearance[]

Emporio is an 11-year-old boy of average build. He has light, curly hair, and light, yellow-brown eyes.

Emporio is almost always seen wearing a striped baseball uniform (which appears to be the type worn by the Chicago CubsW), including a cap.

Personality[]

Emporio

Emporio fights againts Pucci

Emporio is first shown as a timid, awkward boy, rather unwilling to join the battle.

However, as he continues to help the heroes, he is slowly dragged into the fight himself. He proves helpful by using his computer to gain information regarding the villains' powers, and in helping Jolyne out of several tight spots by hiding her in his "ghost room."

When caught in a conflict, he is not usually able to fight back. The main exception to this is his final confrontation with Pucci when he is helped by Weather Report's aforementioned Stand.

Abilities[]

Main article: Burning Down the House

Emporio's Stand, Burning Down the House, is a room comprising a secret, alternate space within Green Dolphin Street Prison, to which only he may grant entry. The room contains a number of useful, imperishable objects.

Emporio is a timid fighter but proves able to follow the directions given to him by the group.

Emporio borrows the Stand Weather Report after the death of its user.

History[]

Background[]

Emporio was born to an unnamed prisoner in Green Dolphin Street Prison. Since then, he has lived there in secret with the help of his Stand, which manifested in the form of a "ghost room." His mother was killed by Enrico Pucci, who took her Memory and or Stand Disc, causing her to slowly rot away[1]The boy safeguarded a fragment of his mother's remains as a memento and as protection against Whitesnake. Initially, Pucci remained unaware of Emporio's existence. At one juncture, Emporio also encounters Weather Report and Narciso Anasui, entrusting them enough to allow them to reside in his spectral chamber.

Stone Ocean (2011-2012)[]

One day, Emporio discovers that Jotaro Kujo intends to visit Jolyne Cujoh. He confronts her and earnestly advises her to avoid meeting him, warning of dire consequences. Emporio then vanishes. The following day, as Jolyne is summoned to the visiting area, Emporio reemerges, concealed within a trash bin, and reiterates his warning. In a bid to rescue Jolyne from the lurking malevolence within the prison walls, Emporio implores her not to go, but Jolyne insists, believing her mother is present. Resignedly, Emporio hands Jolyne his mother's bone as a safeguard against enemy assaults. This bone later aids Jolyne in breaking free from a dream induced by the enemy Stand. Despite Jotaro's endeavors to extricate Jolyne from prison, the duo of Johngalli A. and the enigmatic Stand Whitesnake orchestrate a pincer attack, pilfering Jotaro's memories and Stand. Jolyne transports Jotaro to a submarine from the Speedwagon Foundation for safety but opts to remain in prison to recover Jotaro's memory and Stand DISC. Emporio maintains communication with Jolyne through a string and is dismayed by her resolve to confront Whitesnake. Jolyne and Emporio join forces to locate Jotaro's DISCS and Whitesnake's user.

Emporio is instructed to keep an eye on Ermes Costello and, two days later, confronts her on the staircase. He escorts her to the ghost music room for a private conversation, even though Weather Report and Narciso Anasui are also present. Emporio elucidates his abilities to Ermes and details how the ghost room functions. He then inquires about Jolyne's findings from the janitor. Ermes reveals McQueen's disc, but their discussion is disrupted when Ermes experiences a shock on her arm due to McQueen's electrocution attempt. Emporio aids Ermes by explaining that Thunder McQueen will likely seek saline water to ensure a successful suicide. Preferring not to directly involve himself, as he would be visible, Emporio withdraws, and Ermes eventually overcomes McQueen.

Emporio & Jolyne's Strategy Following Jolyne's call to the Speedwagon Foundation to arrange a delivery point for Jotaro Kujo's Stand DISC, Emporio summons her for a meeting in the music room, joined by Weather Report. Emporio presents Jolyne with a prison map, highlighting the courtyard's blocked path due to securely locked doors requiring a card for access. He advises Jolyne to take Weather with her. Weather soon detects an adversary, prompting the group to retreat to the corridor, effectively evading their pursuer by concealing themselves in a jacket. Emporio advises Jolyne to employ bribery to access the factory but subsequently steps back, recognizing his limited utility.

After Ermes defeats Sports Maxx, the heroes examine his memory DISC and learn of DIO's Bone, a crucial item now within the Ultra Security House Unit. Jolyne allows herself to be transported there in search of it. Foo Fighters expresses concern for Jolyne and requests Emporio's help in reaching the punishment ward, but Emporio deems it impossible for him to safely navigate there. Surprisingly, Narciso Anasui volunteers to assist F.F. in reaching the ward. However, the operation takes a dark turn. Following a series of grueling battles, Enrico Pucci acquires The Green Baby and fuses with it. Foo Fighters perishes, and Anasui barely clings to life. Jolyne and Anasui are ultimately recaptured by the guards.

Emporio & Jolyne Triumph Over Miu Miu Days later, Emporio visits Jolyne in her temporary confinement cell, attempting to dissuade her from escaping and pursuing Pucci, who holds a malevolent guardian preventing Stand users' escape. Miuccia Miuller, appears and warns Jolyne against escaping. However, Jolyne attacks Miuccia, triggering her Stand's power, Jail House Lock. Unbeknownst to her, Emporio is also affected by this ability, but he remains trapped in his music room. Nevertheless, Emporio manages to identify Miu Miu as the head warden of the visiting room. When Jolyne joins him in the music room, their memory loss hampers their coordination. Miu Miu tails Jolyne, spots her image displayed on a computer screen, and accuses them of attempting to escape. Brandishing a gun, Miu Miu shoots at Emporio and shatters the screen. Jolyne shields the music room, instructing Emporio to print the image. Emporio prints the image in binary, enabling Jolyne to create a portrait of Miu Miu with her Stand, ultimately defeating her. Thanks to Miu Miu's ability, Jolyne, Emporio, and Ermes manage to escape with ease.

Visiting Romeo Jisso's residence, the trio secures a helicopter with Romeo assisting in evading the police. While aboard the helicopter, Jolyne senses Pucci's presence and instructs Emporio to fly westward toward Orlando. Ermes notices an open window and closes it, inadvertently encountering something brushing past her hand. Suddenly, Emporio's eyelids droop, leaving him blinded. As Ermes's eyes also shut, she realizes that everyone's eyes have forcibly closed, and Jolyne begins to bleed. Emporio struggles to locate the autopilot button, and the enemy remains invisible and undetectable. Jolyne decides to take extreme measures, prompting everyone to jump from the helicopter. The falling speed enables Ermes to identify skyfish, which Kiss crushes, but numerous skyfish continue to pursue. Jolyne, tethered to the helicopter, manages to cushion their fall, plunging into the water. There, they confront Rikiel. Emporio becomes a victim to Rikiel's ability and notices the skin beneath Jotaro Kujo's memory DISC turning pale blue, deducing that the skyfishes drain body heat, causing ailments and external muscle control. Providing this crucial warning allows Jolyne to conquer Rikiel.

In Orlando, Jolyne entrusts Jotaro Kujo's memory DISC to Emporio. Within the hospital, Jolyne and Ermes clash with Donatello Versus and become ensnared in the memory of a doomed plane. Leveraging his computer skills, Emporio locates the crash information and conveys the seat positions of surviving passengers to Jolyne and Ermes, enabling them to escape the crash. However, Donatello returns Weather Report's memories, unleashing the Stand Heavy Weather, which transforms people into snails. Emporio becomes Donatello's target, who aims to seize Jotaro's DISC. However, Jolyne intervenes and transforms Donatello into a snail. Donatello is coerced into driving the group, but they collide with Weather and Pucci during their fight. The disturbance allows Pucci to eliminate his brother and escape. Jolyne attempts to assault Pucci, but it is revealed to be an illusion created by Versus. With Versus and Weather Report dead, they acquire Weather Report's powerful Stand in the form of a DISC and successfully return Jotaro's memory DISC to the Speedwagon Foundation.

As they approach the Kennedy Space Center, the group strategizes their approach. However, they encounter a gravitational anomaly that diverts them sideways. The terrain resembles an immense cliff due to the lateral gravity deflecting them from the space center. Forced to abandon their vehicle, the group confronts the challenge. Ermes is unable to catch Jolyne, who is struck by debris, and the two become separated. Emporio then Witnesses Jolyne's Battle Against C-Moon, Shocked that Jolyne is punched in the chest by C-Moon, Emporio believes Jolyne to be dead but getss a text message from Jotaro Kujo confirming that she is alive. The heroes eventually gather and corner Pucci, but the priest realizes that he can induce the perfect conditions sooner and thus unlocks the Stand Made in Heaven causing A light to engulfs the center.

After a while, the group regains consciousness, finding themselves unscathed as they approach helicopters that indicate gravity has returned to its normal state. Strangely, everyone has been displaced 200 meters from the shuttle, and the priest has vanished. Jotaro still senses Pucci's presence, and Ermes suggests that Pucci might be concealing himself, seeking shelter from an impending rain by entering a nearby building. However, they all become drenched despite the rain having ceased. Suddenly, the automatic door of the building violently slams shut on Ermes, leaving her stunned. Ermes manages to escape with some difficulty due to the door's speed. Jotaro notices that he's dried off, and Anasui, attempting to prevent a falling rock from striking Ermes, realizes that it has already fallen. As they observe the rapidly setting sun, Jolyne discerns that events are unfolding at an extraordinarily accelerated pace.

Recognizing the need to avoid remaining exposed, the group scales a nearby building. Jotaro freezes time and observes Pucci, accompanied by his Stand, Made in Heaven, contorting a palm tree to use it as a makeshift catapult. In an instant, they are propelled to the rooftop at a velocity that surpasses Jotaro's reaction time. Pucci, owing to his staggering speed advantage, inflicts severe injuries on Jotaro, but Diver Down absorbs the damage. With the rooftop deemed unsafe, the heroes are left with no other choice Tethered together, Emporio, Jotaro, and Anasui devise a plan to navigate the perilous conditions. With a bullet and a replica of the bullet from Kiss, they create a makeshift "flight" method, soaring through the air, yet Pucci relentlessly pursues them. Realizing a grave mistake, Anasui instructs Emporio to shoot toward the sea, where Pucci seemingly has no hiding place. However, the accelerated time causes tumultuous tides, obscuring their view. Pucci manipulates Stone Free to fatally injure Anasui and hurls knives at Jolyne. Time recommences before Jotaro can retaliate, resulting in Jotaro's fatal injury, Ermes losing her arms, and Jolyne suffering a grievous knife wound to her abdomen. As Pucci approaches Emporio, brandishing his weapon, Emporio attempts to resist but is outpaced. Fortunately for Emporio, Jolyne intervenes from underwater using Stone Free. Evading the attack, Pucci is caught off guard as a thrown knife slices his right eye. In fury, Pucci plunges underwater.

Emporio suddenly finds himself back within Green Dolphin Street Prison, clothed beside him, with everyone else also disrobed and puzzled about their return. Emporio realizes he's in the visiting room hallway and hears Jolyne's voice. Anxiously, he peeks into the visitor's room but only observes pale duplicates of the Joestar family. Abruptly, Pucci enters, glaring at Emporio. The priest ominously declares that the universe has completed a full cycle, ushering in a new era for humanity. He dismisses the alternate Jolyne and Jotaro and asserts that past interferences cannot accompany him into the future. Emporio remains the sole obstacle. Emporio tries to flee, weeping from fear and sorrow. However, Pucci pursues him, describing in detail how every action is predetermined, predicting Emporio's attempted refuge in his music room. Despite his best efforts to escape, Emporio stumbles on a mop and tumbles down the stairs. Pucci, acknowledging that only he can escape fate, foresees a future confrontation with Emporio if left unchecked. Pucci stops the acceleration of time at the prison, ascertaining Emporio's whereabouts. He implores Emporio to accept his fate. Made in Heaven subsequently attacks Emporio as he seeks refuge in the ghost room. Pucci follows him into the rift but suddenly realizes that Emporio possesses Weather Report stand DISC. Emporio, now with a resolute expression, returns to the ghost room.

Emporio recounts his deliberate choice to enter the crack, creating a blind spot, and leverage Made in Heaven to alter his destiny, allowing him to acquire Weather Report. Asserting that this outcome is thanks to Jolyne and Weather, Emporio's determination sparks Pucci's anger. Pucci attempts to strike Emporio but is thwarted as Weather Report manipulates the atmosphere, creating a lethal 100% oxygen concentration in the room. Pucci succumbs to rapid poisoning due to the accelerated time, and as he weakens, Weather Report delivers the final blow by smashing his skull. Pucci pleads for his life, emphasizing the futility of his actions if he perishes, as humanity will be unable to make peace with their destinies. Emporio responds simply, stating that Pucci has lost to Fate, which follows the path of justice. Enraged, Pucci attempts to reach Emporio, but Weather Report tears off Pucci's face and pummels him into oblivion.

As time's acceleration reaches another singularity point, Emporio in this new universe, finds himself right outside Green Dolphin Street and witnesses Eldis (Alternate Ermes) being kicked from the bus for attempting to pay with a fifty-dollar bill. Nearby, Annakiss, the alternate Anasui, invites Eldis to ride in their car in exchange for the money she can use to pay for gas. Ultimately, Emporio decides to join after meeting Irene, the alternate Jolyne, who invites the two to ride. Irene also possesses a Star Birthmark, indicating that the Joestar family continues to live on. Deeply touched by the survival of his friends, Emporio gives his name when Irene asks for it. Later, the group picks up a hitchhiker, shown to be an Alternate Weather Report

Trivia[]

  • Araki heard about a child being born in a women's prison and thought he could include it in Stone Ocean in the form of Emporio.[3]
  • During the year Araki introduced Emporio, the Chicago Cubs won a regional game, which is why Emporio dons baseball attire.[3]
  • His last name, Alniño, may also be a reference to El Niño, a cyclical meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the waters of the South-East Pacific. This can be seen as foreshadowing to Emporio eventually utilizing Weather Report.
  • Emporio's English voice actor Casey Mongillo wanted to audition for Narancia Ghirga.
