Summary
At 4:30 PM, Gyro finds a heavily wounded Johnny. After Johnny explains that he's seen Valentine's power and that he got hold of the Left Eye, Gyro tells Johnny that they've lost and proposes to abandon the search for the Corpse Parts. Johnny reaffirms his willingness to get them, as the Corpse granted him the use of his legs again but hasn't been blessed yet by it. Gyro surrenders, and tells Johnny that there may be a hope of standing against Valentine's ability: the Spin can be strengthened further if a horseman can ride a horse and harness the horse's power through the stirrups, which requires functional legs. The duo, resolved to confront Valentine, decide to go save Lucy Steel as she is their last trail to him.
Meanwhile, Lucy follows the guidance of the mysterious voice, and manages through another series of coincidence to escape the Independence Hall on a coach with her husband to the river. However, it was Valentine who guided her all along through the power of both Eyes. He greets a shocked Lucy when she arrives to Valentine's boat which will bring them to the last location on Joseph of Arimathea's map.
